My Halloween 2014 Look: Black Swan Inspired
Hi, everyone,
I feel random just by posting this, plus Halloween is totally over (gosh, it's November 3rd already, where did the year go?!). The deed is done, though. I was Black Swan (trying to look as close as the Black Swan played by Natalie Portman in the movie Black Swan, to be exact) for Halloween, and guess what? It didn't end up at any party, but in front of my camera, in my room. Continue reading>> |
The Bride's Notebook: Planning - Coloring Our Wedding Day
Hello, my loveliest friends,
I had difficulties to start this post even though I've had everything in my head since A YEAR ago (yes, even before he propose, no kidding), because I didn't know where to start, but then... I think this is the very first thing a couple has to decide when the time comes to prepare a wedding. To set a combination of colors is indeed important for a wedding as it's gonna set the whole ambiance. Imagine if you want to have a very humble wedding, yet you can find flashy and sparkly colors or vice versa. I am no expert in wedding department, but trust me, once you've decided what's the tone, you can pretty much decide anything. The venue, the decor, the design of all your wedding collateral, the flowers, the suits and the dresses for the whole parties, the color of your wedding bands, even on how your bridal makeup should look (and this is definitely one important factor for me!). The Bride's Notebook: Bridal Beauty - Korean Scrub at Mint Spa & Salon
Hello, my loveliest friends,
Yes, you're on the Bride's Notebook, and yes, you're also on a beauty related review. No kidding, guys, I will jam those two things together and create what they call Bridal Beauty. First time.
In this post I will share my experience at Mint Day Spa & Salon. Again, sorry for procrastinating, but I went there almost a month ago now. I received the invitation from Ms Delphine (one of the owner) last April, but I was so busy at that moment, hence I decided to come once I have the chance, which is exactly 1 day before our family engagement when all of the craziness has calmed down (for a while, at least). Best. Decision.

All Time Favorite: theBalm Cosmetics Mary-Lou Manizer and Her Sister, Cindy-Lou Manizer
Hi, everyone,
Ever since Ms Kim Kardashian posted her heavily contoured face, I see that contouring has became so popular and I gotta agree that it is important (even much more important than eye liner, in my case). Fine, you got your bronzer to create hollows under your cheekbones, your temples, the sides of your nose, but contouring is beyond a good matte bronzer.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Miss Mary-Lou Manizer and her sister, Cindy-Lou.
Describe them in one word? GORGEOUS!

The Bride's Notebook (11/05/14): Meet the Best Man & the Maid of Honor!
Hello, my loveliest friends,
Done with all of the engagement matters, yes, and the title is self-explanatory. Next, we decided to pick the best man and the maid of honor (just a few hours after our family engagement luncheon, to be exact).
Why, yes, of course any bride and groom-to-be needs their best man and maid of honor because those two are seriously important peeps! Several times I watched people's wedding video and they have like a bunch of people (a bunch as in up to a dozen of people or more) in matching suits and dress (a. k. a. the best man and his groomsmen as well as the maid of honor and her bridesmaids), but these guys... I dunno why, some of them looks just like decor *oops, JUST SAYING!

The Bride's Notebook (11/05/14): The Family Engagement Luncheon
Hello, my loveliest friends,
Yep, I know we've been engaged since last March, but let's face, as Indonesians, we have to face a family engagement anyway and ours was just... Blissful.
Sunday, 11 May 2014, exactly two months after we got engaged.
It was a bright, sunny Sunday. A very special day, not only for me and my fiance, but also to our families, I s'pose. This the day we've picked to get together and taking everything closer to the wedding. All of it are pretty self explanatory, actually, this when the parents of the groom requested to my parents.
It's no big celebration, just the twelve of us gathered for a nice lunch. We know nothing about our ancestor's tradition (well, probably just a tennee tiny bits of it) so, yeah... After receiving the sweet deliveries, a short tea ceremony followed prior to the luncheon and that's that.

Hello, my loveliest friends,
Monday, 31 March 2014. It was a public holiday.
I wanna thank God for the patience and kindness of this man, my dear fiance.
I've been wanting to do a proper engagement photoshoot as soon as he proposed last March and ever since we realized that our wedding and all of the preparation might goes different and far from our ancestor's traditions: no big family and relatives engagement, no sangjit ceremony, et cetera, et cetera...
So yeah, we decided to do this first before anything else prior to our family engagement on May.
This kind of photoshoot might not sound familiar for some people, but I found it wonderful to kick-off our pre-wedding period. There's nothing fancy, we kept everything casual and relax. We did it at our future home, a very special place for us even though the house is completely empty without a single furniture inside. Not to mention dusty and hot (we haven't installed any air-con yet), but he enjoyed the whole process as much as I did, including when he made me laugh all the time while he had to deal with all of my stuff (my make up was melting, my extremely heavy luggage because I brought too many outfits and he even volunteered to be my client after all this time he forbid me to play around with cosmetics all over his face).

The Bride's Notebook (11/03/14): About Damn Time!
Hello, my loveliest friends,
All right, everybody, officially the first wedding related post after, I say, a proper intro? Shall we start from... Well, the day I got engaged about two and a half months ago? Because, believe me, we've been together as couple for almost 9 years now and I know you don't want to hear the long story of how we first met and fell in love and etc. so let's keep it relevant. "The day we got engaged", it is.
Disclaimer: there will be lack of photographs in this post, because we were to happy we forgot to snap some pictures and had no idea what to be snapped (not even a selfie) except for my beyond surprised reaction.

Yes, it is happening. A new tab just appeared on my navigation area. It is seriously happening. Finally, the moment I've been dreaming since I was a kid, the moment I've waited for years...
I AM GETTING MARRIED!
(trying so hard to control the urge to make it bold, underline, put triple exclamation mark, color it red...)
Oh, yeah, everybody, I just gotta share the happiness! It is, again, kinda late as some of the events was taken weeks ago... I just got the time to blog it, that's all, I hope you can forgive me again and still interested to come back as always!

My Current Skincare Routine [Night Time]
I wear makeup every single day.
The reason? Well, I enjoy it, makeup can definitely make my day, and I have imperfections. Oh, yes, imperfections like acne, scars, under eye dark circles and you know what? It's that time of the month again when they're allowed to show up angrily on my skin. I'm breaking out!
Bottom line, I'm loving my current night time skincare regimen: firstly, they're actually not bad; secondly, most of them are affordable; lastly, nothing feels better than a clean and supple face after layering it with makeup for the whole day.

Currently Loving: RiRi Hearts MAC Lipstick from RiRi Hearts MAC Fall 2013 Limited Edition
Hi, everyone,
When you were born as a person who has terrible soft spot towards awesome packaging, what would you do?
Well, I gotta admit that I am one of those people. I know it's not normal, I bought things I don't actually need because of the packaging (especially in the cosmetic department). It is a very bad habit, but I just can't resist anything beautifully packaged. However, pay attention here, fellas, however, when you saw the design of RiRi Hearts MAC Fall 2013 collection, how can you help it?

Starting a 365-Pages Book called "2014"
Hi, everyone,
Happy New Year!
Wow, we finally left 2013 behind and it's crazy because the year just flew by! How's your New Year's Eve celebration?
So, typical me, I failed half of my 2013 resolutions. It's been months since the last time I hit the gym and swimming pool and what's most annoying is that I failed to give more love to this blog :( So sorry, guys! I did manage to take better care of my skin, though. Now it's not completely flawless yet, but I do invest on some good things and some of them does work.
