Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada, 2006
Anyone ever heard of French Makeup? Does anyone know the signature of this naturally chic but also seductive look?
Yes, red lips. Either deep or bright, just make sure your lip color is red.
I personally think that supporting red lips is great. It is timeless and also classic (not to mention sexy). You can perfectly combine red lips with two styles as well (which are very popular in French makeup):
- La Garçon style:
Don't be confused, it's not as complicated as you think. The easiest way to identify La Garçon style is by the
eye makeup (yay, to eye makeup fans!). You can support any kind of red lipstick for this look, but make sure you must involve eye shadows, visible eyeliner, and mascara as well.
Quick tips: balance your red lips with natural smokey eyes for a perfect La Garçon look.
- All natural style (or I usually describe it as "no-makeup"-makeup-look-except-for-the-red-lips):
Oh, nevermind how I usually describe it.
The goal of this natural look is to create the "undone" look. The only thing acceptable for the eye makeup are eyeliner (a barely visible ones) and good application of mascara and of course, the infamous red lips (like adopted by Miss Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada).
I absolutely going natural.
So, which style is your favorite?
Love,
P
PS: support your red lips with a proper poise and confidence! ;P
