Hi, everyone,
You guys might have noticed that I talked a lot about flawless looking skin. I am actually pretty obsessed with this look (to look effortless), and yes, I am counting on foundation to achieve it ;P
However, applying foundation in a wrong way would end up in a disaster. Blotchy skin, cakey face, smearing... We definitely want to avoid those things. But, how can we apply our foundation in the right way?

There are actually three most basic ways in applying foundation (for your information, all of these are correct):
1. Using your fingertips
When in hurry, I totally going for this way. You will definitely save time as this way is super easy and quick. All you have to do is dot your face with your foundation (this will work for liquid and mousse and whipped foundation) and blend everything out with your fingertips.
Nevertheless, if you watch closely, the result will be uneven—as you might be using too much foundation.
Quick tips: this way works best for mousse or whipped foundation.

2. Using makeup sponge
Every time I walked by these products in stores, I couldn't help to touch the packaging. They are super soft! ;P Makeup sponges comes out in many different shapes, colors and materials, but I am absolutely not a big fan of these tools.
Actually, this is my least favorite way.
My mother taught me to use makeup sponge whenever I put my foundation on (liquid or cream), but I found this way sucks :( Unfortunately, when I put the right amount of foundation, I will end up using less product on my face—as the sponge gonna absorb most of it. On the contrary, when I add more product, I found my face all blotchy.
Quick tips: you can damp your clean sponge with cold water before each use for better application.

3. Using foundation brush
This is absolutely my way.
You might think this way is troublesome as you will need to purchase a good quality brush and bring it around with you every time you need to do your makeup. But, trust me, using brush to apply your foundation is absolutely easy and will give you the best result.
I always use a buffing brush to apply my foundation (note that I am a liquid foundation person), though you can use any other brush of your choice (stippling brush or flat brush or even your blush brush!). Using brush will give you the most even application (closer to an airbrushed finish) and you wont have the chance to waste your foundation as well!
Quick tips: wash your brush regularly, not only for the sake of hygiene, but also for best application (the cleaner the brush, the better).
